What is polytrifluoroethylene and what are its main uses?
Vinyl trifluoride is prepared by homopolymerisation or copolymerisation of fluorine-containing monomers such as tetrafluoroethylene, hexafluoropropylene, vinyl trifluoride, vinylidene fluoride, vinyl fluoride, hexafluoroisobutylene and ethylene. The main types of fluoroplastics are listed below, but in terms of quantity and use, polytetrafluoroethylene is important.

PCTFE is a hot-melt processable fluorine material which is, of course, a thermoplastic.
PCTFE is characterised by its high stiffness, outstanding creep resistance, low water vapour and gas permeability, and its excellent radiation resistance.
The main use of PCTFE is as an anti-corrosion lining for chemical storage tanks, valves and pumps, as well as in products such as pipe fittings and test vessels. PCTFE can also be used in electronic seals, wear-resistant gears and radiation-proof products. It can be processed in a variety of ways. In addition to thermoplastic processing and moulding, it can also be processed into sheets and rods for secondary cutting and processing into highly precise machine parts, etc.
