Polytrifluoroethylene based grease (PCTFE) is made from polytrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) as a base oil with special additives such as heat and corrosion resistance. Polytrifluoroethylene (PTFE) is a silicone-based thick grease suitable for strong oxidation and other corrosive chemicals.

Chlorotrifluoroethylene (abbreviated PCTFE) is a polymer compound formed by the polymerisation of vinyl trifluoride. The low molecular weight is a liquid or wax. High molecular weights are white solids or dispersions. Solid density 2.1 to 2.2. Melting point 208 to 210°C.
